Intro

An amazing opportunity to get started in the world of marketing in a fast-growing edtech startup. If you’re interested in tech and working with children, this could be just the internship for you!

About blue{shift}

blue{shift} coding is an exciting edtech startup based in the heart of West London. We teach a creative and innovative approach to coding and robotics to children aged 5-13 at after school clubs and holiday camps based in some of West London’s top independent schools, with a core teaching team of 20.

Our current classes focus on teaching the fundamentals of programming using Scratch, Blockly, Bitsbox, Robotics, Minecraft modding, Arduino, JavaScript, Python, CSS and HTML in artistic and engaging ways. In 2018 we want to expand and deepen what we offer and are looking into further resources for mobile platforms, web tools and more advanced programming environments.

About the position

blue{shift} is growing fast, and we need an enthusiastic, reliable Marketing Intern to help us sell and promote our half-term coding camps. Among other day-to-day responsibilities, this will involve:

  • creating physical marketing materials for camps
  • helping design and distribute seasonal flyers
  • keeping online listings engaging and accurate
  • creating, editing, and sending email newsletters
  • designing and executing creative social media content across all platforms
  • Writing blog posts and Medium articles on a range of topics
  • Tracking and monitoring the success or otherwise of our paid marketing efforts

The internship is intended as a great introduction to the dynamic, competitive, and ever-changing world of marketing in a small startup.

About you

First and foremost, you’re smart, focused, super-organised, and enthusiastic about working in a tech startup. Ideally you’ll be excited about both working in technology and working in education alike.

You’re a creative personality and you’re positively bursting with ideas for potential marketing campaigns. You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator and your eye for detail is something you’re very proud of. You know how to work within a budget, and your time management skills mean that you never miss a deadline or have to rush around at the last minute on a project. You’re extremely social media and internet-savvy and have the busy timeline to prove it!

You understand that this is a startup environment and as such every member of the team needs to pull their weight; you love a challenge and are great at solving problems whenever they come up (and they will!). You’re excited about working in a fun, informal office environment and being part of our little team!
