Marketing Manager

Location: Hazelwood, Derbyshire

The Role:

Working closely with our customer account teams and product management groups you will be responsible for the delivery of marketing activities around our product lines and in support of our customers to ensure the company’s business targets are achieved. Key to your success will be your ability to demonstrate leadership and to influence the development of marketing strategy both with internal stakeholders and external customers.

Based at our marketing and technical centre in the UK you will be part of the Lubrizol Additives global marketing team and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of marketing activities and projects, many of which have a global impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Ensure alignment with Account, OEM and Product Management teams on marketing strategy and tactics to successfully implement the business plan in pursuit of growth targets.
  • Manage the execution of marketing projects.
  • Ensure colleagues and stakeholders are kept informed of changes that may impact the delivery of projects and business strategy.
  • Build effective relationships with other internal divisions and external groups, especially customers.
  • Apply marketing tools and techniques to advise and help customers identify ways to improve their marketing mix to achieve their business targets.
  • Analyse data and information to make forecasts of anticipated market trends.
  • Represent Lubrizol at trade shows, professional forums and conferences.

What we are looking for:

  • A graduate in Marketing, Business or a technical discipline with a marketing focus or relevant equivalent experience.
  • 2+ Years’ experience in marketing or a closely related area.
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing plans and strategy.
  • A proven track record in developing and managing product promotion and communication plans.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • An interest in developing new marketing concepts and techniques.
  • Able to travel (regionally and potentially globally) up to 25%.

Considered a plus:

  • MBA desirable
  • Experience in product management, marketing, sales, project management, procurement or technical customer service, preferably in the B2B or B2C channels in the specialty chemicals, lubricant or petrochemicals industry.
  • Experience of copy writing, particularly for technical industries.
  • Experience of working in a marketing agency.
  • Experience of working with marketing agencies and market research companies.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organisation.
  • An understand ROI economics and financial reporting
