An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a Nursery Nurse in a team of specialist team of Perinatal Mental Health practitioners.
North Yorkshire and York localities, within Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Mental Health Foundation Trust (TEWV), have been successful in a bid in Wave 2 of the Perinatal Mental Health Community Services Development Fund. Therefore we are developing specialist perinatal community mental health teams for women.
In order to address the geographical challenges we are developing a York and Scarborough cell; and Northallerton and Harrogate cell. The team members will be working from these local clinical ‘hubs’ to be closer to the communities served. The team will consist of mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, consultant psychiatrists, peer support workers and nursery nurses.
We are seeking a Nursery Nurse with a genuine interest in perinatal mental health, excellent communication skills, and a detailed knowledge of Safeguarding.
You are required to have a NNEB or equivalent, or be committed to completing NVQ3 in Child care, learning and development. Experience and knowledge of working with babies aged 0 – 12 months is essential. You will have an understanding of perinatal mental health and its impact on families.
Under the guidance of mental health practitioners, you will work with mothers and families in the perinatal period to develop, implement and evaluate individualised plans of care for babies, which reflect their mother’s care package.
You will need a positive attitude, be flexible and adaptable to the changing demands of this developing service. You must be able to travel across the region.
If you are successfully recruited into this post you will have access to regular supervision and have access to internal and external training opportunities.
