This role would suit an ambitious science graduate who has worked with children in either a volunteer or paid role and achieved a 2:1 or above in your degree. The Headteacher wants to recruit a graduate with aspirations of becoming an excellent teacher and a skill for developing important relationships. The perfect candidate will be able to commit themselves to the placement and cultivate valuable communication networks within the school. You will possess a naturally inspiring personality and a superb grasp of your subject.

The successful Teaching Assistant will spend the majority of their time working with GCSE pupils in chemistry but there will be a requirement to work with A Level classes, depending on the demands of the curriculum. Due to the subjects on the curriculum it is essential that your degree will be in, or centred on, chemistry. Knowledge of additional sciences on top of your specialism will of course be put to good use in the department as will a sound understanding of mathematical principles.
