Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Person Specification:
To be successful, you will be personable Maths graduate who has a strong academic record with a 2:2 or above in a maths focussed degree, and previous experience supporting children. The school wants graduates who can convey their interest and enthusiasm for working with a range of pupils including those with SEN. The school needs a graduate who has the ability to motivate others to achieve their very best and a life long love of their chosen specialism. You will have specialist subject knowledge gained from your degree and be an exceptional role model to all pupils.
About the Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Role:
At this expanding school, as a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be working across the whole school. In general, you will be building a firm understanding in the qualities that make a teacher Outstanding through an interesting and wide-ranging CPD program that is tailor made for graduates at the beginning of their careers. Providing support, through one to one and group mentoring sessions, you will be helping students increase their learning. You shall be utilised across the school as you support classes in all key stages in Maths. You will have the explicit support of a talented SENCO as you begin life here, being able to rely on them to help you adjust to the pace of life at the school. Perhaps the most interesting part of this role is the opportunity to support the development of pupils with SEN, as you work with them in small groups or individually to meet the requirements of the curriculum, whilst refining their social and emotional skills. Your responsibilities will include representing one of the most popular departments in the school, known for its friendly staff and highly successful approach to teaching and learning.
