What you can expect
Our teams are active in all major financial markets and develop sophisticated financial solutions to help clients manage risk, increase returns and solve complex financial problems. Globally, we hold leadership positions across all major financial markets. This approach means you'll be part of a dynamic team, helping to solve a range of challenging and interesting business issues and will be challenged in your work.
It begins in London with five days of orientation and training. Expert instructors and J.P. Morgan professionals will teach you about our history, the scale and scope of our organisation today and our ambitious plans for tomorrow. We’ll teach you technical and practical skills that will help you hit the ground running as a Summer Analyst in Sales & Marketing, Trading, Research, Structuring or Prime Services.
Throughout the summer, you’ll support senior colleagues with important research, analysis, and preparatory work. You will monitor markets, develop trade ideas, conduct portfolio reviews, and attend deal meetings to interact with clients firsthand. Your work and contributions will be valuable to the team from the start.
In addition to our enhanced and rigorous markets training at the start of the program, your buddies will advise and support you throughout the summer. Plus you’ll be invited to our speaker series and a host of other interesting events, designed to give you a better understanding of products and the markets.
Based on your individual achievements you may have the opportunity to join us full-time following your graduation.
What you need to bring
A strong interest in global financial markets is essential, as are analytical and quantitative skills, flexibility, teamwork, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle pressure and enjoy a collaborative environment. Academic excellence is a must, you must have an expected degree minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent (results to date should clearly demonstrate that this is a realistic indication). You certainly don’t need a degree in Maths, but a good level of numeracy is required.
Additional requirements include:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence and initiative to take on responsibility and manage your own projects.

Qualifications and experience requirements
- We recruit from all academic degree disciplines - you do not need a finance degree.
- We are looking for team-players and future leaders with drive, creativity, and interpersonal skills. Strong academic credentials are important, but so are your achievements outside the classroom.
- You must have an expected degree minimum of a 2:1 or European equivalent (second year results should clearly demonstrate that this is a realistic indication).
- Fluency in English is a pre-requisite. As we are a truly global organisation, a second European language is essential for some roles and advantageous for others.
