This post is available ASAP for 12 months and has arisen to help provide a full middle grade rota at BSUH urology for inpatient, outpatient and emergency work. They would complement the existing team of urology registrars and core trainees. They would suit candidates who have completed their core surgical training and who are looking for clinical experience in urology, or more experienced urologists.
As well as research the department has strong audit and teaching credentials and there are excellent opportunities to get involved with projects and education / training. These posts are fully funded and would initially be for 12 months, although it may be possible to extend this. These posts involve working as a middle grade on the on call rota, along with some guaranteed general urology outpatients and theatre lists.
The clinical activity in this post is based at the Princes Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath with some outpatient commitment in Brighton at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. The Urology department provides care to a total population of about 465,000 in Brighton & Hove and Mid Sussex areas. This department offers a comprehensive range of urological services where the team is committed to providing first class care to the local community in a multi-disciplinary setting. Specialist services exist for Stones, Reconstructive Urology, Infertility and Laparoscopic surgery.
