About us:

Admiral Law was created in 2013 as a joint venture with Lyons Davidson Solicitors, in order to provide legal assistance for all customers and ensure they are given a great service. Taking the burden and stress of an accident away from a client is at the forefront of Admiral Law’s ethos, whilst ensuring employees give correct and effective legal advice to get fair compensation for their losses.

About your career:

Our employees are right at the heart of our success. We put a lot of effort and investment into making sure our organisation is a happy place to work, ensuring employees have the appropriate training to excel in their field of expertise. Throughout the past few years we had a plethora of experts deliver training ranging from Barristers, Physiotherapists, Accountants, Defendant Solicitors, Costs Experts, GP’s, and not to forget our own experienced management group.
The management group works closely with individual handlers, investing in their career and ensuring they have the support and guidance to achieve set goals. We believe that investing time in our staff leads to people enjoying the job, advancing their technical knowledge and understanding what pathway they wish to choose in the business. Internal progression is paramount, and we work hard to ensure that our staff members have many opportunities to further their career.
Whilst there are numerous ways to develop your skill set within Admiral Law, we currently have a significant number of handlers in Admiral Law enrolled on CILEx courses. Our good relationship with the local college is extremely important to us. All of these courses have been fully funded by Admiral Law, yet another perk for those successful!

About the role:

Motivated, articulate and analytical, you’ll join us here in the MOJ department, receiving all of the training that you require to become a competent, Technical PI Case Handler.
Our Case Handling academy provides you with the training and support that you need to learn the role from the ground up. You will firstly undergo an intensive induction course, which will teach you everything you need to know about Personal Injury claims and the PI process. You will start with a reduced caseload, instructing medical experts, reviewing reports, valuing claims and advising your clients on the best course of action. You’ll effectively manage and progress your own caseload using our in-house case management system (and in line with our SLAs), keeping clients informed of progress every step of the way.

In a typical week, an MOJ Handler will:

  • Instruct applicable medical experts from different disciplines dependent on injury
  • Liaise with medico legal agencies querying reports and any other specialised experts in their field
  • Drafting and obtaining statements from numerous people to support the client’s claim
  • Giving effective and correct legal advice throughout the duration of the case
  • Valuing and advising the client on what would be the most reasonable amount of compensation to claim for
  • Negotiating with the other side’s insurer to obtain the best result for our clients
  • Preparing papers for court and instructing Barristers to attend trial on your behalf. You will even get the chance to attend your own hearings to see the decision first hand
  • Be responsible for your own clients and caseload
  • Keep your backlog within company SLA’s
  • Communicate in an effective and professional manner
  • Refer any particularly complex matters to your immediate manager
  • Ensure you are working towards achieving our company’s KPI’s
MOJ Handlers work Monday to Friday between 9:00 – 18:00 whilst accruing flexi time to use at your disposal.
You will spend at least 6 months in the academy environment, before you become an MOJ Case Handler, which comes with increased autonomy levels, exposure to more complex and litigated work.

About you:

Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and customer focused, you will thrive on seeing results for our clients, keeping them updated at each stage of their claim. You will be thorough and methodical, enthusiastic and organised, confident managing and prioritising your work. You will have great communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You’ll also have sound PC and telephone skills.

Benefits and rewards:

Because happy people do better work, we offer some great benefits. You’ll directly benefit from our free company share scheme. We also offer a contributory pension and free life assurance, as well as generous paid holiday entitlement, free corporate gym membership and lots more.
