Physician Associate in Trauma and Orthopaedics

The James Paget Hospital is seeking to appoint a Physician Associate within the department of Trauma and Orthopaedics. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Physician Associate to actively contribute to the further development of a modern Trauma & Orthopaedics service. The Trust is a highly regarded hospital with its wide range of acute and community services, which will afford high professional visibility.
The post holder will recognise the importance of the multidisciplinary team in delivering urgent and elective care within a very busy general hospital setting, reviewing patients post operatively in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The post holder will be accountable for ensuring that patient care is of a high standard at all times and that standards of care and treatment meet the department’s requirements. The post holder will be expected to be an excellent role model and ambassador for Physician Associates.
The Hospital is situated in a mainly rural area in one of the most open, picturesque, safe and unspoilt parts of the country, offering a range of inexpensive properties, good schools, easy access to the coast and an abundance of outdoor, sporting and recreational activities. The post will appeal to candidates who seek a high quality of life combined with a practical clinical role within a secure and well-run hospital distinguished by its supportive and friendly culture. The JPUH have been given an overall rating of “Good,” following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection which took place in August 2015. This places us in the top 30% of acute trusts in the country.
