Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a Retail Customer Assistant to join our team on a part time basis for a four month contract.
Within a welcoming and team-focused environment, you will have the chance to undertake great training and make a positive difference to staff, visitors and patients.
As a Retail Customer Assistant, you’ll help to establish and deliver our new retail trolley service in St John’s Hospital.
Specifically, you will:
- Provide a friendly, helpful service to customers
- Assist with the day-to-day co-ordination of volunteers
- Operate the till and undertake cash reconciliation tasks
- Assist with deliveries
Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- The willingness to undertake training
Self-motivated and organised, as a Retail Customer Assistant, you’ll have superb communication skills. You’ll also be friendly and personable with a caring, sensitive approach to customers and volunteers.
Ideally, you’ll have GCSE level qualifications, but this isn’t essential. Experience in a retail environment would also be beneficial, as would experience of general administrative processes.
Knowledge of EPOS systems would be equally advantageous, as would proficiency in industry standard IT systems.
This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week, flexibility over five days.
