Job Description

Ark is an international charity, transforming lives through education. We exist to make sure that every child, regardless of background, has access to a great education and real choices in life.

Our highly-successful network of 38 schools educates over 20,000 students across Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth. They are achieving some of the best results in the country despite being largely in areas of historic academic underachievement.

We are looking for a Training and Events Coordinator to play a key role in ensuring the ongoing success of Ark as it continues to expand. This role is designed to give administrative support to Ark Schools Professional Development, and the wider Professional Learning team. In particular, the Training and Events Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the Ark Schools training programme through managing all logistical aspects of our training offer, which includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders, effective scheduling of modules, materials preparation and the coordination of resources, management of reminder processes, supervision of session attendance and collection of module feedback.

The successful candidate will:

  • have experience of planning complex schedules
  • have experience of project or events management
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • have excellent IT skills – in particular PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
  • have the ability to build effective relationships quickly
  • be confident and tenacious
  • be an effective team worker with the ability to also work independently on own initiative
  • be willing and adaptable to change
  • show a personal vision aligned with Ark’s high aspirations and expectations of self and others
