Job description

If you are you seeking a stimulating and varied career where you can make a difference this may be the graduate training programme you are looking for.

CASE partners with a number of world class universities and not for profit organisations participating in the programme. You will have the opportunity to launch your career by working in one of these organisations and being immersed in the world of fundraising. Philanthropy helps researchers find cures for major diseases; scientists develop solutions to poverty, inequality and environmental issues; and provides access to a university education to transform lives. As a fundraiser you will be working with academics, university staff and donors to achieve these things, and more.
Are you a recent graduate or about to graduate?

  • Do you have a demonstrable interest in fundraising, campaigning or event management?
  • Are you passionate about education?
  • Are you looking for a meaningful career where you can make a difference?
  • Do you believe in the power of education to change lives for the better?
  • Are you good at working with people and building relationships?

CASE Europe is looking for highly motivated graduates to participate in this successful scheme to develop the educational fundraisers of the future. Candidates will be fully immersed in the world of fundraising, project management and donor support within one of our partner organisations. You will be placed in one of the following participating institutions: University of the Arts London, University of Bristol, Cancer Research UK, University College London, Cardiff University, Imperial College London, King’s College London, London Business School, University of Surrey.

Graduate trainees will work within each area of a fundraising office - gaining experience and developing skills in donor relations, prospect management, annual and regular giving, fundraising campaigns, major gifts, events and partnerships.

The breadth of the experience provides graduates with a fully rounded view of fundraising and the role it plays in supporting the institutions. For those looking for a career in fundraising, the Graduate Trainee Scheme is a great opportunity.
This is a fixed term contract. You will be employed by a host institution and partake in a hands-on training programme which will give you the opportunity to experience the full range of functions. You will learn the skills and knowledge to cultivate and manage philanthropic relationships as well as implement strategies to secure support. You will also work with external organisations, potential donors and develop an understanding of your organisation’s strategic goals and priorities.

You will be applying to the programme as whole and we strongly recommend that you are flexible about the location that you work in, however you will have the opportunity to state a preference. The programme starts on 26th August 2019 with a week-long induction event in Birmingham at the CASE International Conference attended by educational fundraisers from all over the world.

Working on site at one of our partner university/organisations campuses, you will have support from both the host institution and CASE Europe who are managing the scheme and provide formal training throughout the scheme.
