Our internships give a unique insight into potential career paths within Airbus. They are designed so that you can put your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain crucial industry experience. The skills and knowledge you gain will improve your chances of a future role within the Airbus and should benefit your future studies.
The internship will be within the Functional Avionics group in Stevenage. This group is in charge of “Functional Engineering” of Spacecraft: Operational concept, Failure Detection, Isolation & Recovery, Functional Tests, and associated Data management. This involved system level design, development, and verification, for on-going European Space Agency (ESA) programmes such as ExoMars Rover, Solar Orbiter and Biomass. The role will involve working in the area of spacecraft flight operation procedures, database architecture, data management and delivery, within the context of overall System Functional Development, Verification on simulated Test Benches and Tests Benches with Hardware in the loop.

Internships at Airbus Tasks & accountabilities

These are the type of activities the role will involve:
  • Support elaboration of Flight Operation Procedures
  • Develop with users, the user requirements for Spacecraft Telecommands and Telemetries database
  • Develop, test and maintain software for Spacecraft Telecommands and Telemetries database

Required skills

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.
Degree requirements (grade and subjects):
Aerospace Engineering or alternatively Electronic / Computer Science / Software Engineering.
Technical / IT / Behavioural / Language skills required (essential / desirable criteria):
