The schools appoints on potential as well as experience, and are committed to supporting staff development. Several non-teaching staff have trained with them as teachers on Schools Direct and other similar programmes and others have benefited from financial support for MA or similar courses.
The school has a autism provision catering for students with a diagnosis of autism and related learning difficulties. Currently there are 52 students in the department. The department mirrors the main school with a class for each year group, consisting of a specialist teacher, senior LSA and a team of LSAs. There is also a therapy team including speech and language specialists, occupational health therapists and a music therapist. Students follow a bespoke curriculum based on the individual needs each spending a different amount of time in the main school. Students follow an autism specific curriculum including the development of life skills and employability skills for life after school.
The school is in beautiful new £48m buildings overlooking the Green Belt. It is easily accessible from Northern, Piccadilly and Overground rail links and buses run past the entrance. They attract students from eloquent and supportive communities across North London and Hertfordshire. Currently they are planning an expansion in response to over-subscription.
