History Graduate for Humanities TA in Tower Hamlets

A school in Tower Hamlets have an opening for a history graduate or an academic mentor to join their staff to provide academic support across various subjects.

We are looking for history graduates who have excellent subject knowledge who are looking to utilise this in an ‘Outstanding’ Humanities department, supporting a range of these subjects.

***Must be a minimum 2:1 History graduate with a strong academic background

***Long-term, full-time position – no day-to-day or supply roles for history graduate
***Generous salary of £70-£75 per day

What are the school looking for?


An Academic Mentor who is a minimum 2:1 History Graduate (or other humanities-based degree)>
Minimum of 3 B’s at A-level and A’s and B’s in core subjects at GCSE>
Ability to build rapport and passion to improve disadvantaged others >
Some experience, paid or voluntary, working with young people (desirable)

Based in Tower Hamlets, the Headteacher of this secondary is particularly interested in a history graduate who has excellent academics and is keen to get some experience in demonstrating this through supporting young people.

The Academic Mentor will work closely within their subject-specialist department, supporting the lessons across KS3 and KS4. When instructed, you will lead 1:1 and group booster sessions for students who are struggling to grasp the lesson content. Outside of lessons, you can expect to work closely within the common rooms and raise your specialist subject departments profile by being actively invested in extra-curricular activities.
