The Urology Department at Bolton Hospital Foundation Trust invites applications for a Locum Consultant Urologist. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and dedicated team of Consultants, Middle Grade Doctors and Urology Nurses within a new purpose build. Due its completion in February 2019, it comprises of diagnostics, outpatients and theatre suite and day surgery ward.
This post is full time (10 PAs per week) and there will be requirements to participate in an on-call rota. Urology at Bolton Foundation Trust (BFT) has recently joined with Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh (WWL) to enable a more sustainable weekend on call rota of 1:8. This has enabled working relationships and will develop more shared working initiatives for the benefits of both local patient populations.
The department is a progressive and forward thinking department, which strives to provide a service that is continually improving for both patients and staff alike. The applicant will be working with 3 consultant colleagues who are very friendly and supportive. As both the Urology theatre and Diagnostic suite are located together, the Urology staffs are very flexible and are keen to facilitate the smooth running of both elective and emergency provisions

The clinical and professional leadership structure provides excellent support and facilitates a culture of learning & development, innovation and sharing of best practice, such that staff are equipped and enabled to deliver high quality safe care to our patients.
We are looking for a clinician who is highly motivated, and who continually strives for excellence. You will have the opportunity to develop any special interests and it would be advantageous (but not essential) if you if have a special interest in stone surgery.
The Trust is strong and stable both financially and operationally – we were rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission in July 2016 and have finished the last two years with a financial surplus.
